Red-Flag is a browser extension designed to combat fake news, deepfake videos, and biased reporting using AI-powered analysis and community-driven fact-checking. Unlike traditional fact-checking apps, Red-Flag works seamlessly in the background on various platforms like YouTube, Twitter, TikTok, Instagram(Web), and Telegram. At the same time, users browse, requiring no extra effort or installations. It also includes a community-driven feature where users can comment on flagged content, with the extension summarizing public sentiment and key takeaways by leveraging Snowflake Cortex AI.
Red-Flag features deepfake video detection, analyzing videos in real-time through the GenConVit model to identify AI-generated manipulations, ensuring users can trust what they see online. The extension detects misinformation by cross-checking news articles with trusted sources through Google Search API and providing contextual analysis through Llama3.1, emphasizing Explainable AI. It highlights biased content in news articles through a Sentiment Analysis Model (Roberta) and gives each bias score.
With applications across a multitude of industries ranging from journalism, finance, cybersecurity, and healthcare, Red-Flag helps businesses, policymakers, and everyday users navigate online content responsibly. The extension stands out for its innovation, industrial relevance, and technical depth, offering a practical one-stop solution to a global problem.
