Inspiration

Growing concern regarding phishing SMS. We want to utilize AI technology to tackle the issue.

What it does

The product utilize Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and Natural Language Processing (NLP) technology to analyze and detect scamming message.

How we built it

We built a cross platform mobile application for IOS and Android using React Native, MongoDB, Express and Python

Challenges we ran into

Communicating pytorch model backend with the app. Initially, we tried to use TensorflowJS to load the machine learning model but we didn't have any success with the Tesseract OCR software. We then finally come up with a solution that use 2 database in Flask and MongoDB to do cross platform communication

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Everyone of us learnt new tech stack in an incredibly short amount of time (less than 15 hours).

What's next for Red Deviloper - ScamGuard

We plan to develop the roadmap and further examine the business model to see if we will have any competitive advantage if we would continue with our product.
