Game Title: Red Cliff

Description: Embark on a gripping 2D sci-fi adventure as Arjun, an astronaut stranded on Mars after a catastrophic mission failure. With your spacecraft damaged beyond repair and only a few days of resources left, survival becomes a race against time. Explore the barren Martian landscape, delve into mysterious caves, and piece together the fate of a previous expedition that vanished without a trace.

As you gather vital resources and solve complex puzzles, you’ll uncover a dark secret—a powerful, time-warping entity that traps you in an endless loop, growing stronger with each cycle. To survive, you must outsmart this relentless force, repair your ship, and find a way to break free from the deadly time loop before it's too late.

Beautifully hand-drawn 2 visuals and a haunting atmosphere bring the desolation of Mars to life, making each moment a tense and immersive experience. Can you survive the mysteries of Mars and find your way back home?

Built using Godot 4,RedCliff takes full advantage of the engine's robust capabilities, offering a smooth and responsive gameplay experience. The game's stunning hand-drawn visuals have been meticulously crafted using Aseprite, bringing each Martian landscape and eerie cavern to life with rich detail and atmosphere.

Throughout the development process, we encountered numerous challenges. Working with Godot 4's advanced features required us to push the boundaries of what the engine could achieve, particularly in implementing the time-loop mechanic and creating seamless transitions between levels. Optimizing the game for performance while maintaining the visual quality was a constant balancing act. With Aseprite, we faced the task of ensuring that each hand-drawn frame not only looked beautiful but also aligned perfectly with the gameplay, creating a cohesive and immersive experience. These challenges, though daunting, pushed our team to innovate and refine the game, resulting in a polished, engaging adventure that truly stands out.
