Inspiration
An idea about sorting waste through image recognition after brainstorming.
What it does
Gemini provides an input after viewing the image to determine the type of waste.
How we built it
We used an Arduino Microcontroller, with coding with C and Python.
Challenges we ran into
Took a long time to connect camera to code, code had debugging issue.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We successfully executed the idea and connected all of the components.
What we learned
How to implement new Arduino microcontroller into our project and learnt how to use Google Gemini API as input, commmunication and teamwork.
What's next for this project
Build the actual mount for the system and integrate it in existing public trash bins.
