Inspiration
One of the problems which is further worsening land pollution is the fact that the people are unable to decide whether a product is recyclable or not, and as a result, most products end up reaching the wrong places for their processing. Seeing a lot of products being wasted in our neighborhood causing environmental harm inspired us.
What it does
A lot of people are unable to classify their waste products into recyclable or non-recyclable items. Hence, when they dump them, these products don’t go to their appropriate place for further processing. So, we have created an app that can allow the user to upload an image and check whether the product displayed in the image is recyclable or not.
How I built it
We have implemented this solution by using a deep learning AI that was presented with some data to help it learn and classify products. We have created an app that allows the user to upload an image, which is then analyzed by our deep learning AI. At the end of this process, a popup message is displayed informing the user whether the product is recyclable or not.
