Inspiration
My inspiration comes from the urgent need to address the growing environmental challenges our world faces. I believe that technology can play a pivotal role in promoting recycling and sustainable living.
What it does
RecycleMe is a comprehensive solution that combines image recognition powered by machine learning with ChatGPT to provide users with valuable insights on recycling. It helps users identify recyclable materials and understand how to recycle them properly.
How we built it
I built RecycleMe using a combination of react-native, machine learning for image recognition, and OpenAI's ChatGPT for providing information.
Challenges we ran into
During the development of RecycleMe, I faced challenges related to integrating python with java script since this is the 2nd time I ever had to use JS. Ensuring the accuracy of image recognition and real-time interaction with ChatGPT were also among the challenges we had to overcome.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I proud of creating a platform that empowers users to make environmentally conscious choices within this limited time while being unfamiliar with a lot of the technologies used in the project.
What we learned
I learned that everyone has their limits. Throughout the project, I gained valuable insights into the power of AI in promoting sustainable practices.
What's next for RecycleMe
Upgrading the UI is a must. Then its to expand RecycleMe by adding more features and more personalization.
