Inspiration
Our community inspired us. Everyday we see a lot of plastic, can and glass bottle pollution. We also see people collecting bottles everyday to make a living.
What it does
"RecycleIt" allows people to locate recycling machine locations specifically for bottles. They are able to see the a map with locations, amount of machines, service status and more.
How we built it
We built it using HTML, CSS, PHP and MYSQL and we used XAMPP to locally host it.
Challenges we ran into
A challenge we ran into was getting the PHP part to work. Time was also a challenge.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
This was our first time dealing with PHP and MYSQL and we are proud of how far we've come.
What we learned
We learned to use PHP and MYSQL. We also learned about databases.
What's next for RecycleIt
We will implement a system that encourages people to recycle more, add a store control panel, and bring to mobile!
