Developed by a team of enthusiastic software engineers with a deep commitment to waste management, it aims to tackle the widespread challenge of incorrect waste sorting. By harnessing the power of OpenAI's advanced vision and voice technologies, along with the creative capabilities of Dalle3's API, RecycleGPT not only accurately identifies recyclable items but also elevates the recycling process with a unique gamification twist.

In RecycleGPT, users effortlessly contribute to a greener planet simply by taking a photo of their waste item. The app promptly guides them to the correct bin for disposal, fostering responsible recycling habits. Each successful sort is celebrated with a unique, rewarding image, enhancing user engagement. Additionally, the app visually demonstrates the user's impact by integrating their contribution into a global tally of properly sorted waste, reinforcing the collective effort towards environmental sustainability. This seamless, rewarding experience not only educates but also inspires users to be proactive in waste management.

Since the inception of the hackathon, we have constructed 85% of the RecycleGPT project from the ground up. The app is tailored to the needs of entities managing large properties, such as airports, stadiums, and amusement parks. These venues, often facing significant waste management challenges, will find RecycleGPT particularly valuable for its ability to educate and engage a vast audience in effective recycling practices. Our go-to-market strategy is focused on targeting these large-scale operators, where the app's innovative approach can make a significant impact in promoting sustainable habits on a large scale.

Beyond the GenLab Hackathon, our team is seeking partnerships with schools, stadiums, and other large venues where RecycleGPT can be effectively implemented. We aim to integrate our app into these environments to maximize its impact on waste management practices.
