💡 Inspiration

Sustainable and eco-friendly practices are vitally important concerning the accelerated rate of global warming, climate change, and environmental issues. When I was thinking about what I can do to change the situation, I came up with an idea to use my coding skill and integrate it with environmental education. I wanted to inform people about recycling practices, which is a simple & easy way to protect the environment.

🌱What it does

It provides the users with the environmental problems that are occurring in the world, how serious it is, ways we can solve them, and the proper way to recycle the garbage. There is an interactive game where the users can answer questions related to recycling and gain proper knowledge at the same time.

🔧 How we built it

I built this website using HTML, CSS, and Javascript. I referred to some documents and videos to make the website the way I wanted it to turn out.

🔍 Challenges we ran into

Some problems I ran into were styling and creating a pop-up screen. I could not align the objects and stack every class in the way I wanted them to be. Although there was not enough time to make it look like the website I planned, I managed to make a website that is interactive, creative, and educational.

🔅 Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud of everything I have done during this hackathon. I am still a beginner but I tried to refer to multiple resources to learn more about HTML and create the website at the same time. I still cannot believe that I made the website in a short time frame.

📢 What we learned

I learned that there are many ways I can be part of the solution to environmental problems. I am glad that my self-taught computer skills helped me inform people about environmental problems.

🌐 What's next for Recycle Me

I will still be adding more fun & interactive features to this website so that more people would be willing to learn about the issues and be part of the solution. I also want to make it user-friendly so that people would actually come and visit this website.
