What's next for Recovery Radar

Inspiration

People lose money because a delay, cancellation, outage, failed delivery, cancelled subscription or provider promise is rarely matched back to the transaction that should have been settled. Recovery Radar turns that missed connection into a reviewable recovery lead.

What it does

Recovery Radar looks for a verifiable gap between a purchase or booking, an incident or provider promise, the applicable rule, and the final settlement. It then prepares the next step for the person to review.

The demo covers three synthetic recovery leads:

  • a transport delay with a possible EUR 400 compensation;
  • a subscription cancelled before a later EUR 17.99 charge; and
  • a telecom outage with a possible EUR 20 service credit.

The product is intentionally not a chatbot that writes a generic complaint. It builds an evidence chain and shows why a recovery may exist.

Why WebMCP

This workflow normally spans several web surfaces: a booking or receipt, transport or provider records, a policy page, a billing record and a claim workspace. WebMCP gives the agent a structured way to discover and operate the meaningful actions exposed by the page.

Recovery Radar registers seven tools through document.modelContext.registerTool:

  • scan_for_recoverable_money
  • select_recovery_case
  • inspect_recovery_evidence
  • prepare_recovery_claim
  • approve_recovery_workspace
  • reconcile_recovery
  • reset_recovery_demo

These represent the product operations: discover, select, prove, prepare, approve and reconcile. The tools validate inputs, preserve an audit trail and keep external submission behind a human approval boundary.

What people and agents do together

The agent performs the repetitive discovery and evidence assembly. The person chooses the scope, reviews the proof, confirms the amount and decides whether to open the prepared workspace. Preparation can be agent-assisted, but submission and money handling remain outside the project.

How it was built

Recovery Radar is a local-first static web application built with HTML, CSS and JavaScript. It uses synthetic cases and deterministic state transitions so the complete flow can be tested safely. The main challenge was making WebMCP meaningful instead of decorative: each registered tool maps to a real product operation and produces visible evidence or state changes.

Impact and scope

Recovery Radar starts with transport, subscriptions, purchases and paid services, where the evidence chain can be made concrete without immediately entering higher-risk areas such as banking, insurance or litigation.

How to test

Open the live demo in ChatGPT's in-app browser or Chrome with WebMCP enabled. Ask:

“Scan for recoverable money, select the highest-confidence transport case, inspect its evidence, and prepare the claim packet. Do not approve or submit anything.”

The expected result is three findings, EUR 437.99 in synthetic potential recovery, and a transport lead for EUR 400. Review the evidence, prepare the packet and approve the local workspace manually. No provider form is submitted and no funds are handled.

Disclosure

All records and amounts in the demo are synthetic. The project makes no provider requests, does not use credentials, does not send claims and does not receive money.
