Reconstruct

Inspiration

One of the main inspirations for this project was Nzambi Matee and her company where they supply bricks entirely made from plastic and other recyclable materials.

What it does

Reconstruct is an online market where you can buy construction materials that also happen to be environmentally friendly and sustainable.

How we built it

I built the Reconstruct website using WordPress.

Challenges we ran into

This was my first time using WordPress so at first I was confused but after doing some research I think I figured it out for the most part.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

This was my first hackathon and I think I did pretty well :) I'm proud of the overall initiative as I believe that this could be a really amazing project if it were to be an actual business and I'm proud of the website I set up!

What we learned

I definitely learnt more about the sustainability community and how even as students, we need to raise more awareness around environmental sustainability and how it is simple to set up an amazing and creative project/business once you have the right idea.

What's next for Reconstruct

The next step for Reconstruct would most likely be expansion, reaching out to suppliers for them to market off their products.
