Inspiration

Living with dementia can be really challenging and having see this first hand we felt it would be a good opportunity to delve into this space where we can help support and uplift the lives of others.

What it does

It has 3 verticals. First is the context-based chatbot which helps navigate the patient in his day to day affairs, also sending emergency SOS in case of emergencies. Second is the Reconnect module that pops up a memory of a patient at a certain time in the form of a photo and asks the people involved in the memory to send a voice note that can be accessed by the patient. Third we have the Relive module where the patient can ask about any photo if they have a hard time placing stuff. A patient can either ask about a person and can get info about who he is and their relation to him. Secondly, a person can take a photo of their surroundings and the system is able to retrieve the memories that were made in that environment.

How we built it

Nextjs, Typescript, Whatsapp integrations, Python, Flask, OpenAI apis, WHISPER, REST APIs

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The novelty and how meaningful each of the 3 vertical is. Emotionally resonant features added to the rewarding experience. Knowing how valuable this could be for caregivers and family members and ofcourse dementia patients.

What we learned

With Grit ideas really come to life and this project gave an opportunity to learn much more about people dealing with conditions and how we can take part in empowering them.
