Inspiration

We were inspired by the University Housing & Dining Services Menu and Nutrition website.

What it does

An app that provides a list of recipes for making any searched food item.

How we built it

Both the frontend and backend were made using python.

Challenges we ran into

The time constraints disallowed implementing a proper frontend framework or database. We also had a teammate drop out for undisclosed reasons which meant that we were unable to achieve all our goals.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to get the project working after one of our teammates dropped out.

What we learned

Being aware of tech interoperability and how to implement that data exchange would have been very useful in the beginning.
A lot of features were simplified due to lack of experience and awareness of how the tech interacts

What's next for ReciPy

We would like to remaster this project at some point in the future. There are currently discussions about remaking this app using Rust for the backend, wasm for the frontend and mongoDB. We also plan to add new features such as the ability to add a recipe to a list of favorites.
