Inspiration

Our inspiration to choosing the Good Neighbor Fund's challenge was the simplicity of the problem. This non-profit is fairly new, only being a year and a half old with no full time employees. The main thing they struggle with is documenting the company's that receive their grants. As a group we immediately thought of the idea to make a website where recipients fill in their own information instead of the Good Neighbor Fund doing it for them.

What it does

Our website provides many different resources, tips and advice for start up company's, and a couple different google forms. The resources include GNF's Instagram, Slack, and Discord for any recipients to continue regular communication. The tips and advice are YouTube videos that provide valuable information for company's/businesses trying to grow. Lastly the google forms are for regular check ins with the company's that were given the grant and any extra feedback they may have.

How we built it

Our process for building the website was complex but also simply. We originally were going to use Figma but no one in our group had much experience with using it so we decided to use google sites. After that we used google forms to make all the forms used in our website and extracted any extra data from Google.

Challenges we ran into

There wasn't many challenges within our project but we did get stuck a couple of times with how we were going to format our website. We had many different ideas and it took a while for us decide on what we were exactly doing but in the end we worked it out and finalized what our vision was.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Good questions and a base analysis

What we learned

About GNF and there true intentions to help the community grow

What's next for Recipient Portal for the Good Neighbor Fund

When finalizing our project we thought about how our website could be used in the future. This thought process changed how we designed our website. We designed our website to be a base for future development and improvements correlating to the growth of this non-profit.
