Inspiration
Our inspiration for ReciPiece stemmed from a desire to revolutionize the way people discover and enjoy recipes. We wanted to create a user-friendly app that not only recommends delicious dishes but also prioritizes user safety and dietary preferences. In German we say "der Hunger treibt's rein"!
What it does
Users can easily swipe through a curated selection of currently 868 recipes, and the app intelligently recommends dishes based on their preferences. Importantly, ReciPiece takes dietary restrictions into account, automatically hiding "nogo" dishes for users with allergies or specific dietary needs.
Recommender App
How we built it
We built ReciPiece using a combination of state-of-the-art mobile development frameworks and machine learning "algorithms". The backend employs a robust recommendation system, while the frontend features a sleek and intuitive swipe interface. It's dockerized so it can easily be deployed elsewhere.
Challenges we ran into
Design and Frontend decisions as always. No fun and too little time left for cool and fancy backend stuff..
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I hope the final product looks somewhat nice and can be of use, I will try it in the near future to find new recipes ^^
What we learned
Refining skills in fast mobile App and fastApi / docker deployment.
What's next for ReciPiece
Expand recipe database further, refining recommendation system, feed the world. One must think big here I guess.
