Inspiration

As students, it might sometimes be hard to plan our diet. We wanted to build a tool that could help us in that matter

What it does

Proposing recipes according to dietary restrictions, preparation time, and cuisine level

How we built it

Using co:here, flask python as back-end to bring data from a recipe dataset to the front- end

Challenges we ran into

We tried to obtain the prices of the ingredients of each recipe, to no avail. It would have allowed us to include a budgeting option to our project The corporation between Javascript and Flask python is sometimes hard to realize fully. The complicated data frame filtering sometimes is hard to hash back.

What we learned

-> Pain (Just kidding) But seriously, filtering unstructured data such as the ingredient column of our data set was really challenging, and led us to learn a few things about the nltk package (more precisely wordnet)

What's next for RecipeBot

-> Budgeting option, more recipes
