Inspiration
We were thinking about what project we should make and our group had one universal goal in mind, inclusivity. Although Christmas is the most popular Holiday in the Winter, many people do not celebrate it. Our group thinks that food is the one thing that almost everybody enjoys over the Holidays, no matter what you are celebrating. With the idea of food in our minds, we decided to make "Food Hack", a decked-out online cookbook that can be very useful for the Holiday Season!
What it does
View recipes for thousands of dishes
- View the needed ingredients for each recipe
- In-depth steps guiding you through how to make each dish
Upload an image of a dish and find the recipe for it
How we built it
- ReactJS
- Spoonacular
- MobileNet Model
Challenges we ran into
- Serializing the response from the API
- Styling
- Implementing a decent looking image upload page
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I am very proud of all the hard work this group put in. I think that we are all particularly proud of how well we worked together to create a cool project! On the technological side, we are all proud of the way we were able to effectively display information from the API onto the screen.
What we learned
- This was my (Christian Stefaniw) first time using React for a real project so I learned a lot about React
- Reactstrap (Bootstrap + React)
- Prebuild Tensorflow models
What's next for Recipe Hack
- World domination
