Inspiration
I often have ingredient in my fridge that I do not know what to do with, and don't want to make the same things all the time
What it does
You input what ingredients you have into the website, describe your mood and your cravings, and it automatically generates meals that then have a very comprehensive step by step recipe
How we built it
We used Gemini API as the base, and Gemini as the ai chatbot to respond to our prompts. Python was used to create the logic, and using flask, we connected it to html to make a webapp
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge was trying to get picture into the webapp, we did not know how to handle two APIs at the same time, which limited our options, and out of those options, the generated picture either would not show up on the webpage or showed pictures unrelated to the webpage. Still looking for a solution for that.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are all very new to coding and hackathons, and many of us it was our first time building a webpage and dealing with APIs, but I am proud to have built something that has ai and to have learnt how APIs work
What we learned
The main thing that was learnt was how APIs work as well as the many intricacies of HTML, but with those, the variety of projects I can build just got bigger
What's next for Cravecraft
I really hope to be able to include images with each dish so that you have a preview of the dish, as well as images to guide you along the steps of the recipe
