Inspiration
Searching for recipes can be overwhelming, especially when you only have a few ingredients at home. We wanted to create a smart and simple tool that helps people quickly find recipes based on what they already have — reducing food waste and saving time.
What it does
Recipe Finder is a web app that allows users to: Input ingredients they currently have (e.g., "tomato, onion, egg"). Instantly get a list of matching recipes. Explore recipe details, including cooking instructions, ingredients, and prep time. It’s simple, fast, and focused on helping users cook more, waste less.
How we built it
Built using the Bolt no-code platform, which made development quick and intuitive. Designed the interface with drag-and-drop UI components. Connected to a recipe API (or static recipe data) for fetching and displaying recipe results. Deployed on Netlify using Bolt’s export and integration features.
Challenges we ran into
Working within the limitations of Bolt for dynamic data display and layout customization. Ensuring recipe search results were relevant and readable on all devices. Integrating or simulating a recipe database/API in a no-code environment.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Fully functional and live recipe search app built without writing code. Clean UI/UX with mobile-friendly design. Successfully deployed and accessible via a free Netlify domain
What we learned
How to turn an idea into a working app using a no-code tool like Bolt. The power and limitations of no-code platforms. How to structure and deploy a simple product quickly — from concept to live site.
