Inspiration
My family is creating a cookbook. Eventually, I would like to build a family cookbook recipe saver with the ability to take photographs and use AI and machine learning to convert the photo into a savable, sharable family recipe.
What it does
Does three things> 1.) Generates recipes and instructions for cooking that recipe. 2.) Provides a chatbot who embraces the spirit of Gordon Ramsey 3.) Provides search recommendations of 5 top recipe websites.
How we built it
Used PartyRock. We created it by adding widgets that interact with each other and an image widget that adds interest by showing a picture of the potential recipe.
Challenges we ran into
No internet access. Image generation of text could be better. Try having it generate an image of a chessboard.
Definitely some limitations without the ability to create hyperlinks in the output boxes that are clickable. At least, I couldn't get that to work right.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Given the app's limitations, the concept of recommending certain types of Google searches is rather useful.
What we learned
For an initial rollout, PartyRock provides almost infinite ways of creation. It gets you started quickly by generating the initial set of widgets, but then you're only limited by your imagination. It's lots of fun, really.
What's next for Recipe Assistant-Help you generate and search recipes
I'm going to build this into a family cookbook website. Having a family recipe + AI to adjust it as you might need it, say, for gluten-free or missing some ingredients, could be really neat. I'm envisioning machine learning, OCR, and AI for the creation of a really interesting fully featured family cookbook website. PartyRock provided a nice prototype and play-to-play.
