Inspiration
Condo buyers in Miami need a way to easily check the 40-year recertification status of buildings before going under contract. This information impacts not only safety but also financing eligibility and the likelihood of future special assessments. Currently, much of this data is only uncovered during the closing process. This app is the first step toward bringing more transparency to buyers from the start.
What it does
RecertifyCheck lets users search any Miami-Dade condo by name, address, or folio number and instantly view its 40-year recertification status. It displays key information such as inspection status, due dates, and last updates—all pulled in real time from official public data sources. A map view helps users visually explore buildings across the county.
How we built it
This was a fast and focused build. I located the public APIs for 40-year recertifications, created a PRD using ChatGPT, and used Bolt.New to generate the MVP. I then iterated with additional prompts to improve the design and added a map for spatial context.
Challenges we ran into
Nothing major—this app came together smoothly thanks to what I learned from building and submitting my first app.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Building something useful, quickly, that solves a real problem. This app is launching soon because it's genuinely needed.
What we learned
Bolt.New is a game-changer. With a clear vision and smart prompting, it dramatically speeds up development.
What's next for RecertifyCheck
This app will be integrated into my real estate platform, Allioo.com. We'll continue expanding it with additional data sources—like financial health, reserve studies, and building photos—to give buyers a complete picture of the property before they ever step inside.
