Inspiration
Our inspiration for this project was people around the world letting food go to waste or letting the food go bad because they don't know how to cook or make the food that they want to make.
What it does
Our app which is called receipts to recipes, lets the user scan a receipt, and get ingredients back based upon what they bought.
How we built it
We used databases, flasks, python, swift, xcode, and other software to create this app.
Challenges we ran into
Some of the challenges we ran into was the computer vision part, as going from image to text was difficult. Another part that was difficult was the flasks part, where a flask was made to save data.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Something that we are proud of us through the project is us being able to implement all the extra things that we wanted to and putting them all together and it still correctly working.
What we learned
We learned how to use Xcode to create an app, how to program using swift and firebase (for the database), and how to send data from website to another.
What's next for Receipts to Recipes
Implementing more tools for people to further the recipes that we made was the main part of what more we can add too. We could also create more functions for the user to do once they scan or manually insert their needs.
