We basically revolved the entire app around the Knot API and its really cool functionality and wanted to go the fintech route because of it.
What it does
Our app stores and categorizes employees' transactions for policy compliancy without taking photos of physical receipts or parsing through digital email receipts.
How we built it
We built the foundations using Lovable then migrated to Claude Sonnet 4.5 for a lot of the boilerplate. We used the Knot API to connect to cards and merchants to detect when purchases are made with Supabase managing our backend and database.
Challenges we ran into
We're all first time hackers with little software engineering experience so a lot of the syntax making API calls.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud that we actually got a working product before the deadline and got to have fun making it.
What we learned
We all got to learn about GitHub more and how different software integrate and interact with each other.
