What it does

Receipt & Warranty Vault turns scattered receipt PDFs and photographed paper receipts on a UGREEN AI NAS into one filed vault plus a ledger of when each warranty or return window ends.

Inspiration

Most households and freelancers keep receipts as phone photos and emailed PDFs, then cannot find proof of purchase when a product fails or at tax time.

How it works

One conversational request scans the folders the user names, then delegates in order: file-agent finds candidate files, document-agent extracts merchant, date, total and warranty length from PDFs, photo-agent runs OCR on phone photos, and the parent Skill computes warranty end dates from verified fields only. It shows the proposed Year/Merchant layout and an expiry table (soonest first, flagging anything ending within 60 days) and waits for explicit approval. After a yes it copies (never moves or deletes) the files, tags them, and saves a "Warranty and Receipt Ledger" note through knowledge-agent.

Design choices

Everything runs on the NAS with UGOS experts; no external services. Unknown fields stay unknown instead of being guessed, unreadable files are listed rather than invented, and writes only happen after approval.

Status

Round 1 submission: complete SKILL.md with orchestration, approval gate and empty/partial-result handling; passes the official static checker with zero errors or warnings. Runtime validation on the NAS is pending if selected.

Validation plan

Five PDF receipts -> correct fields and tree; ten phone-photo receipts -> ledger sorted by expiry; a blurred receipt with no date must appear as unread, not guessed.

Limitations

Warranty length is only known when printed on the receipt; handwritten or very low-quality photos may be unreadable; totals are summed per currency, not converted.
