Inspiration

I was inspired by the data conversion from images and that we can extract data from images and make insights from it.

What it does

It uses the OCR library to convert the images of receipts into text and store important data that we extract from the test. And it makes insights about things the user purchased that others also purchased for different price, so that the user can decide if it was cheaper at the moment compare to when the user purchased that product and it can help the user to buy things. It also shows the location of the Walmart to buy the product.

How we built it

We built the front-end with the streamlit, the Python library and used Python as the main language.

Challenges we ran into

We had challenges when connecting to the database and make a good front end ui.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I am proud of coming up with basic functionality although all my teammates dropped out.

What we learned

I learned the OCR library is very useful.

What's next for Receipt-Able

We need to make more insights, right now we only have one insight about product being cheaper purchased by other user.
