Inspiration

A public recall notice tells a consumer what was recalled, but it often does not answer the last-mile questions that determine whether the exact item qualifies: Does this date code count? Is the remedy still available? What proof is required? Must a human open a case?

What it does

RecallReady combines authoritative U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recall data with one tightly constrained CALL-E phone workflow. A user searches official recall records, selects the relevant notice, enters only a model and optional non-sensitive date or batch code, reviews a masked single-use call preview, and explicitly authorizes one call.

The result is structured—not a vague transcript. RecallReady returns eligibility status, remedy, required proof, deadline, confidence, supporting evidence, whether a human is needed, and the smallest safe next step.

Safety and privacy

  • Mock/no-call mode is the default.
  • Live mode requires a server-side CALL-E key, deployment opt-in, an unexpired single-use preview, and the exact approval phrase CALL NOW.
  • Demo destinations require an ownership or permission attestation.
  • Official calls use only the consumer-contact number published in the selected recall record.
  • Phone numbers are masked in the browser and are not persisted by RecallReady.
  • The task refuses names, addresses, emails, accounts, orders, payment data, passwords, health information, and full serial numbers.
  • The agent cannot purchase, accept legal terms, schedule service, declare a product safe, or provide medical, legal, or emergency advice.
  • Ambiguous or low-confidence outcomes fail closed and require manual review.

Technical implementation

RecallReady imports and invokes CALL-E through CalleClient, binds the recipient and idempotency key, validates strict terminal results, and keeps live and deterministic mock providers separate. Durable hash-only checkpoints prevent accidental redials after ambiguous restarts without retaining a phone number or transcript.

The public contribution was accepted and merged into CALL-E's official awesome-phone-call-agents repository. The standalone repository includes source, setup instructions, an MIT license, tests, and a detailed privacy-and-safety model.

Validation

The repository's build and automated tests pass without placing a real phone call. A successful live-call claim will only be added after one explicitly authorized test call is completed and evidenced.
