Inspiration

At Recall, we were inspired by the pressing need to make sustainable living effortless and exciting. We wanted to turn recycling into a rewarding habit while contributing to a greener planet. By combining gamification, smart technology, and eco-conscious design, we aim to empower individuals and businesses to embrace sustainability seamlessly.

What it does

Recall simplifies recycling with an easy-to-use app and smart bins. Users locate bins, drop recyclables, earn points, and redeem them for eco-friendly products in the Recall Store. The app tracks your environmental impact, provides real-time insights, and connects you to a community of like-minded individuals through challenges and achievements.

How we built it

We developed the Recall platform using:

  • Frontend: React for the app interface and website.
  • Backend: Python and Django for server-side logic.
  • Database: PostgreSQL for efficient data management.
  • Gamification: Badge systems, rewards, and challenges to engage users.
    We also curated the Recall Store to feature sustainable products made from recycled materials.
