Keep the curiosity going. One question, a shared discovery, and a reason to return.

The private adult workspace presents the complete lesson, including teaching, answer choices, answers and feedback, review before sharing.

The later demonstration question asks where moonlight comes from, giving the revisit a new focus. This is a title card from the film.

The native approved lesson comparison shows how the explanation changes while preserving the original session. Vega Virtual Device.
Inspiration
A child's question can arrive when there is no time to explore it. RECALL helps a parent return to that curiosity, explore it together, and connect a later observation to what they already discussed.
What it does
RECALL connects Bee on Apple Watch with a shared learning experience on Vega.
A parent retrieves a finalized Bee recording and privately reviews the proposed lesson before sharing it. On Vega, the family can make predictions, explore science diagrams and answer questions using a remote.
Later, another Bee observation can connect to the saved session and change the next activity. Compare lessons shows what changed while preserving the original session and answers.
The prototype supports Moon phases and seasons, including an interactive “What if Earth had no tilt?” experiment.
How we built it
The Python backend calls the official Bee CLI at runtime and stores local state in SQLite. Reviewed science content and bounded selection rules produce supported activities without requiring an external model credential.
The native Vega player uses React Native, Amazon's Kepler runtime and AsyncStorage. The browser provides the private parent workspace and an alternate player.
Approval applies to the exact source and lesson revision. Shared devices receive approved teaching content; raw transcripts and parent credentials remain private.
Challenges and lessons
The main challenges were handling finalized transcript data, keeping private review separate from shared playback, and preserving saved progress across reconnects.
Final review also fixed delayed TV responses that could restore withdrawn content and added a strict limit on Bee subprocess output. The release passes 482 automated tests, additional smoke and adaptation checks, and a native Release build.
Demonstration and next steps
The video demonstrates actual Bee retrieval using adult recordings prepared for the demo, followed by native playback on a Vega Virtual Device.
Next steps include physical Fire TV testing, caregiver usability studies and expanding the reviewed topic library. Family learning outcomes have not yet been measured.
