Inspiration

Every year, millions of tons of electronic waste are discarded, contributing significantly to environmental pollution and the depletion of natural resources. Our website uses AI to inspire individuals to tinker by providing creative ideas for repurposing old electronics, transforming waste into innovative projects. By promoting STEM engagement and sustainability, we want to empower individuals to reduce harmful waste and get introduced to the field of technology.

What it does

Users can input an old technology they have like a laptop, TV or even as small as a vape and our app will give them ideas of what they could turn it into. Our website also allows user to post their ideas and be featured on our ideas page, providing a platform for tinkerers to share and gain inspiration from others.

How we built it

We used ReactJS for frontend development, Vite to host and GPT API for AI integration.

Challenges we ran into

We were planning on using MongoDB to have a backend database for idea submissions and highlights but we ran out of time.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Frontend development looks really nice and matches the theme of Halloween while addressing global issues and technology.

What we learned

We learned a lot of frontend features for ReactJS and implementation of GPT.

What's next for ReAnimate

We want to connect a backend database in order to make our website have better functionality.
