Inspiration

Witnessing the struggles of talented researchers to secure funding and share their knowledge with the world inspired me to create Research Realm. This platform empowers researchers by offering a new, decentralized approach to funding through social tokens and fractional NFT ownership of research papers. By directly connecting researchers with supporters and readers, Research Arena aims to revolutionize research funding, democratize access to knowledge, and accelerate the pace of scientific progress.

What it does

  1. Decentralized Funding: Researchers can raise funds through social tokens, a blockchain-based solution that provides transparent and secure fundraising opportunities. This eliminates reliance on traditional funding sources, which can be slow, competitive, and restrictive. And we wil Isue an ownership Credential to all the supporters, to claim the reward after pblishing they have to verify them selves on-chain to receive award.

  2. Fractional Ownership of Research Papers: Research papers are minted as fractional NFTs, allowing researchers to share ownership and directly reward their supporters. This incentivizes collaboration and opens up new avenues for research funding.

  3. Gated Content with Direct Revenue Distribution: Readers can access gated research content through subscriptions, with revenue directly distributed to the NFT holders. This incentivizes researchers to produce high-quality work and ensures they are fairly compensated for their efforts.

  4. Credibility Index for Researchers: Research Arena introduces a unique Credibility Index that ranks researchers based on their track record of successful publishing, subscriber base, and overall contribution to the platform. This provides valuable information to readers and helps them identify reliable and trustworthy researchers.

How we built it

Unfortunately, due to a 15-day period of bed rest caused by Pox, I was unable to participate in Polygon Connect India. However, upon returning to work on November 29th, I immediately began participating in the Constellation Hackathon, leveraging my newfound knowledge of PolygonID and its Iden3 protocol to power-up verifiable credentials through the Dock API. Challenges I ran into

Embarking on my first foray into ZK technology for the hackathon posed several challenges that demanded both resilience and resourcefulness. As a newcomer, deciphering the intricacies of the project proved challenging. However, my commitment to overcoming these hurdles led me to actively seek assistance from the supportive Polygon Discord community.

I would like to express my gratitude to key community members, particularly Sanketh and OttoMorac, whose invaluable guidance and assistance proved instrumental in navigating through the complexities. Their unwavering support, even during late-night hours, significantly contributed to my understanding of decentralized identifiers (DIDs), an aspect of the project marked by a steep learning curve exacerbated by outdated examples in the documentation.

Navigating the Dock API presented its own set of challenges, and I am appreciative of the responsive and dedicated support provided by the Dock team. Their assistance played a pivotal role in overcoming obstacles associated with the API and ultimately facilitated the successful completion of the project.

there are some options like transparent peer-review system and private messagging that are not yet implemented i have to work on them, if Everything works il launch this website in one or two months

Related to Project Creation and previos Work

I have created this project for the Polygon Connect India Hackathon but due to my health problems I stopped working this project on nov 10,later after NOv28 I again started working on this project till 9th i have only done with front-end part all the polygon-ID related work is entirely done after hackthon start.

PolyonID Verification

MY mobile camera was broke im unable to verify credentials thats why im not added those verification steps, actually I implemeted an on--chain verifier to check if the withdrawing account holds the token or not by followuing the NFTOwnership Schema VC that I showed in the dock.io credentials dashboard. please consider that as working since it'll showing the actuall issued credentials.
