Introduction

RealAction was born out of a need for a more efficient and engaging way to collect feedback during events, especially when the audience is large. The idea took root after a frustrating experience at a HackNC opening ceremony, where providing feedback became impractical due to the sheer number of attendees. Recognizing the potential for improvement, the RealAction project was initiated.

Inspiration

The frustration of not being able to share thoughts and experiences with event organizers at HackNC served as the catalyst for RealAction. The desire to make feedback more accessible and dynamic drove the project's development. The goal was clear: create a solution that not only streamlines feedback but also turns it into a captivating, real-time visual experience.

Project Vision:

RealAction aims to revolutionize the way event organizers gather and react to audience feedback. By offering an easy-to-use platform for attendees to express their thoughts and emotions in real time, the project intends to bridge the gap between organizers and the audience. Whether it's a live poll, a colorful liquid display, or other creative means, RealAction envisions transforming feedback into a visual spectacle that enhances event experiences.

The Mission:

The mission of RealAction is to say goodbye to traditional, static feedback mechanisms and embrace the pulse of the audience in real-time. By doing so, it empowers event organizers to make data-driven decisions and curate unforgettable events that resonate with the crowd.

Defining the Purpose:

The first step in building RealAction was to define its purpose clearly. We aimed to develop a solution that empowers event organizers to collect, process, and display real-time feedback, making it accessible and captivating for attendees.

Technology Stack:

To turn this vision into reality, we chose a technology stack that includes Java and spring-boot for the backend, WebSocket for real-time communication, and HTML/CSS/JavaScript for the frontend. These technologies allowed us to create a dynamic and interactive platform.

Real-Time Feedback:

The core feature of RealAction is real-time feedback. Attendees can express their thoughts and emotions instantly, whether through live polls or other interactive means. WebSocket technology enabled us to achieve seamless communication between attendees and organizers.

Conclusion:

RealAction was born out of a genuine need and a desire to make event feedback meaningful, interactive, and fun. Its journey began with a frustrating experience at HackNC and has evolved into a dynamic platform that promises to reshape how organizers and audiences engage with each other. RealAction is committed to bringing the real-time pulse of the audience to the forefront of event management.
