This project seeks to investigate the current operation modes used by transport personnel and companies, and find ways to add value to the transportation of goods using emerging technologies e.g. mobile and Genetic Algorithm to strengthen their existing value-adding features to promote real‐time distribution management and maximum resource utilization. Following the conducted research and requirements formulation, the proposed system architecture for distribution and real‐time event‐driven vehicle/cargo management system will seek to enhance information flow and enhance monitoring between the various processes in the logistic chain. This solution also seeks to provide an on-demand platform where drivers can get request to transport cargo and goods so that return trips of trucks add value to the logistics companies, and not waste fuel on movement of trucks that are empty.
