Real Time Emergency Detection Using Live Tweets

Our course ICT at IIT Bombay had such an idea discussed once!

Issues alert tweets in real time for emergencies for the location with most tweets on a predefined distress and time zone!

Used twitter streaming API and did processing on the obtained JSON twitter file. Used HPE entity extraction to capture places from tweet.
