Real-Time Attention Score of Students in Online Class

Inspiration

Interactions in online classes have been an issue for both students and lecturers, which needs to be solved especially because the demand for online classes are increasing during the year of COVID-19

What it does

Generate real-time attention level score of students in online class for lecturers' to make timely adjustment during the class

How I built it

by calling the API of Amazon Rekonigtion, real-time emotion data can be extracted. Polynomial regression models from previous research in the related field are then used to transform the percentage that each emotion is contributing to the general emotion into attention level score.

Challenges I ran into

We haven't used AWS before and don't have experience in front-end design

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

we integrated the cut-of-edge technology of AWS and algorithm in related field to quantify the emotion data into a powerful real-time attention level score.
