I am a resident doctor of Preventive Medicine and Public Health in Spain (La Paz University Hospital, Madrid). I am interested in Healthcare Management, and I have finished a Master´s degree in this field, another one in Public Health and I am currently studying an MBA program called Future Leaders by PowerMBA. I am also passionate about value-based healthcare, eHealth and new methods of data analysis. During my residence program I have learned a lot about these topics because l have worked in several units related to eHealth, Public Health, information systems and quality management. The end of my residence program is near and I think it is a good time to do something that I have always wanted: to create a social startup in my sector, since after my training I can better understand the needs of the patients and other stakeholders of the Healthcare Industry.
“Real Hero” is a videogame where you can save real lives through health promotion and education. Health promotion, health education, and disease prevention is now more than ever necessary. The crisis caused by covid-19 has shown that people are demanding evidence-based health information.
My idea is a new concept of mobile video game since people feel better with themselves while playing, by sharing validated evidence-based health recommendations. Nowadays, especially during coronavirus crisis, people are already using social media to share health recommendations, but we can´t trust this information because it isn´t validated. My idea creates this validation and adds another intrinsic incentive: coins and items for the game.
