Inspiration

We got inspiration from the subject matter expert (SME) videos that were provided in the introduction pdf. We first started brainstorming ways that would offer patrons who have never been to Indianapolis before a way to get to know the city a little bit better. So we decided that an event forum would be the best way to go. We felt that a lot of the problems that the SME's proposed could be fixed with our solution Ready Right Now!.

What it does

Our website Ready Right Now! is an event posting site for businesses in Indianapolis. Business owners can post events on our website in order to help better reach their customers. Also, it allows restaurants to post wait times for their customers.

How we built it

We first designed the look of the website. We wanted to make the design super simple and easy to navigate in order to keep it user friendly. We picked our color scheme and made logos for our website using photoshop. Then we took the photoshop design and built a prototype using C#. This allowed us to get the feel of how the website would transition between the different pages.

Challenges we ran into

Some of the challenges that were faced was a gap in knowledge in building the front end of our website. None of us had much experience with UI design and building a website. Also not having unlimited time to work on our product was something we struggled with and making sure that our goals were aligned with our strengths. Also only being able to talk and meet up virtually was a big challenge and getting our busy schedules to align.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Some accomplishments that we are proud of is being able to effectively work together as a group and finish this challenge while also having a good product to show off. Also, being able to communicate really well through slack and when we had our meetings to make sure that all group members were on the same page.

What we learned

We learned a lot of valuable skills that we can take forward into our professional and academic careers moving forward. Such skills include being able to effectively work with people that you have never met in person. Also, learned how important communication is when working with a team especially working virtually.

What's next for Ready Right Now! - Sports and Entertainment Team #2

The next step for Ready Right Now! would be to get the full website up and running with all the functionalities that we had planned on implementing. After the website is up and running we would need to reach out to businesses and get them involved with our website.
