Inspiration & What it does:
The project provides an experience that allows users to prepare for the New Year's Eve party in a virtual environment. In addition to the selection of various Christmas and New Years accessories considering the wishes of the user, it is also made possible by the randomizer. The lens, which has 4 different categories, includes various glasses, hats, headbands and special concept make-ups. It takes the viewers on a fun journey with Santa with its background and music. The project, inspired by parties and decorations, was created with the fiction of how a user would prepare for a New Year's Eve party.
How we built it:
The filter, which allows to record a New Year's memory after trying on various accessories. It uses many elements such as Santa Claus hat, reindeer, snowmen, cochina flowers etc. It is aimed for viewers to choose according to their wishes and create their own look.
Challenges we ran into:
One of the difficulties we faced in this process was to adjust some asset's movements such as the Santa's hat and earrings. The movements of these assets were tried to be moved to the desired direction with the rigging method. Also, we tried to ensure that the accessories that come with the randomizer are compatible with each other and not overlapping. Another challenge was to manage to keep the lens under 8 megabytes even though it contains so many assets. This was overcome by keeping the assets as low poly but quality as possible.
What we learned:
The most important thing we learned in this process was how to maximize optimization in such a multi-asset lens.
What's next for Ready for New Year:
In the future, we hope to do a project where we can turn such a multi-asset lens into a more complex game for different types of holidays.
