How We Made It
We created Readee with a blend of modern web technologies and innovative cloud services. Utilizing HTML and CSS, we sculpted a user-friendly front-end for our extension. Then, with JavaScript, we seamlessly injected interactive buttons onto article text that can be selected to produce a definition and model pop-up. Our back-end uses an AWS EC2 instance, which leverages the GPT API to generate context-aware definitions, ensuring each term's meaning is accurately tailored to its usage. The 3D models come to life through Echo3D’s JavaScript SDK, enabling us to stream intricate models directly to the user's screen. Moreover, we incorporated a QR code API, offering a gateway to augmented reality, where users can interact with models in their physical space, enhancing the immersive learning experience.
