Readability

About

Readability is an accessibility tool for young adults with disabilities, created to make virtual learning more accommodating for those who are sight or hearing impaired, or those who struggle with hyperactiveness. We recognize that the shift toward online classes can be a drastic change for students who depend on the traditional classroom setting, so we designed a customized layout for each disability to best suit their needs in a new learning environment. Students can use the easily navigable site to upload and complete work in an intuitive workspace, and Readability provides different tools like magnifying text, voice controlled writing, and proofreading. We also implemented mental health checks to monitor the wellbeing of students as they work. While similar services exist, none of these platforms contain all the tools we have, and also aren’t personalized to each student. As a result, we came up with our prototype of Readability.
