## Inspiration:

  • Witnessing the struggles of people in need and the frustrations faced by communities trying to connect with effective help.
  • Recognizing the limited reach and discoverability of local NGOs within existing social media platforms.
  • A belief in the transformative power of community action when properly connected and coordinated.

## What it does:

  • Bridging the gap between individuals wanting to volunteer or donate and local NGOs needing support through our social platform.
  • Providing a centralized platform for discovering verified and impactful volunteer opportunities near you.
  • Facilitating convenient food, clothing, and goods donations directly to those in need within your community.
  • Empowering students to contribute to learn about local NGO's, volunteer for them and through it, build valuable life skills.

## How we built it:

  • We first talked about a few ideas and selected ReachOut from them
  • Next we discussed our previous experiences with coding and delegated tasks based on everyone's skill sets.
  • Lastly, we took feedback to improve our site and make it more appealing to the end-user.

## Challenges we ran into:

  • Someones two people with different coding styles worked on the same code which made it challenging as well as essential to maintain proper communication.
  • Building and styling all the webpages despite our busy schedule and other commitments.
  • Filtering NGO's based on location since we had no experience about working with database.

## Accomplishments that we're proud of:

  • Connecting volunteers and donors to local NGOs, and making a tangible difference in their communities.
  • Reducing food waste and diverting resources to feed those in need through convenient donation options.
  • Empowering students to find meaningful volunteer experiences and build social connections.

## What we learned:

  • The power of local action and the incredible resourcefulness of communities when given the right tools.
  • How to effectively work and communicate as a team when working on projects.

## What's next for ReachOut:

  • Setting up profiles for individual users and NGO's
  • Improving the aesthetics of the website.
  • Improving our filtering for NGO's by using a proper database.
