Through our website, REA:CH to Recycle, viewers would be able to input a material or object they would like to recycle and learn the many ways it can be reused, recycled, or revamped.
Inspiration: Our inspiration for REA:CH to Recycle was the amount of recycling we realized we consumed everyday. From plastic water bottles, tin cans, and cardboard boxes, all the way to old bicycles we no longer need, so much goes to waste. We knew there had to be a better way to reuse, recycle, and ultimately reduce the amount of waste produced each year.
What it does: REA:CH to Recycle offers a wide variety of creative ways to turn your trash into your next treasure.
How we built it: We built our REA:CH to Recycle website by using javascript, css, and html coding. We also used YouTube to create specific links for our website.
Challenges we ran into: We ran into a lot of javascripting challenges which we were able to work through together.
Accomplishments that we're proud of: We were very proud when our website actually worked.
What we learned: We learned so much about recycling and the many different ways you can reuse items at home. We also learned a lot about javascript that we did not know before.
What's next for REA:CH to Recycle: REA:CH to Recycle would ultimately benefit from gaining more users and feedback on the materials viewers want to learn how to recycle. By gaining customer feedback, we would be able to create even more videos and informative uploads.
