Inspiration

We wanted to help people get access to better resources and to design a webapp that helps them take care of their mental health - since COVID; the constant negative news, and the lockdowns took a toll on everybody's mental health.

What it does

You land on a landing page - then you either LOG IN or SIGN UP; depending if you have an account. You NEED and account to access most (if not all) of the site's features.

Features include:

  • Meditation timer - _ set your desired time and relax; a chime will let you know when time is up _
  • Mood logs - _ keep track of your mood over a period of time by loging it - and your days. you get a full overview of your past logs in an easy-to-view format _
  • Resources - _ useful resources to experts and community sites that we found helpful in taking care of our mental health _

How we built it

HTML, CSS, JS, NodeJS, MongoDB and various CSS libraries (animate.css and Bootstrap)

Challenges we ran into

Hosting problems and time pressure mainly, as well as resisting the urge to restart or rewrite certain parts (looking at you CSS!)

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We made a finished product in about 2 days, while learning a tonne of new things

What we learned

We learnt so much - in both frontend and backend - and how to work effectively as a team by focusing on our strengths. We all found that there was a lot of more motivation to finish when working as team :)

What's next for REACH

We're aiming to continue development - maybe during the midsem break or in-between semesters.
