Inspiration
My cousin is in the lower spectrum of autism and I took care of him since he was a baby. Seeing him struggle with daily activities due to the lack of services in his neighborhood made me determined to make an app that would help the general population connect to these services.
What it does
It will take user input and go through a database(not yet implemented) to find appropriate services for the individual. Since these services vary very wildly from age to age and diagnosis to diagnosis.
How I built it
I used Android studio to build the app. I initially wanted to use SQL database for the search result, but I wasn't able to implement that yet.
Challenges I ran into
Working solo, I had to figure out all parts of the development which was very time-consuming.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Being very new to app development, I was able to finish this on my own within the given timeline is a very big achievement for me.
What I learned
I have learned a lot about a lot of aspects of app development in this 36 hour period.
What's next for ReAbilitate
I would like for it to be a fully functioning app that supports google place API so it's easier for users to get search results.
