How it started

Hi. About 4 weeks ago, I saw a short report of the situation inside refugee camps. There was basically a complete lock-down. No one to come in or out. All the help organisations weren't able to get to the people. I just thought, that these people will be crushed by Corona, if only a single person gets sick.

Why the all the fuzz

There was very soon clear, that Europe was not able to organize enough of the urgently needed medical equipment, on top breathing-machines and masks. (also due to the complete reliance on cheap products from one of the worst dictatorships in the world - China)

That's when I started to gather some thoughts about a mask that could be cheaply and fast produced, and has a higher standard than the normal FFP1/2-masks that essentialy are only a sheet of cloth in front of you.

In "highly"-civilized countries (sorry, this is a very discriminating and ridiculous common expression for countries, that actually exploit the world for their wealth ), many people have homes to retreat to, but at other places in the world, the situation is quite different....

Momentary status

Anyways, please check out the design presentation, to get an idea of the developement status and the thoughts behind it. Still there are some problems to address, like the material it could be produced with and the moisture building up inside when wearing for a longer period of time (maybe some Silica-Gel could help)...

What would be needed

I'm mostly looking for people, who have some medical background, production background and also other designers, eventually, companies who are interessted in the production, etc... The concept and Design is licencesed under CC and the main goal of this project is to help! Therefore I'm only giving the design away under the condition, that the whole product will be produced without any monetarization.

At the moment, it would be good to have some professional feedback, with a general idea, if the whole thing is worth it, if someone is willing to contribute or whatever you think. Please be invited for comments, commitments, contributions or other help.

Best wishes
