Inspiration
We were inspired by the book Doughnut Economics by Kate Raworth, which talks in depth about the circular economy. The circular economy is the idea that our economy should mimic that natural cycles of life. Instead of cradle-to-grave, which pollutes and destroys the planet, what if we could live in a cradle-to-cradle world, where everything is reused, recycled, and almost never thrown out. We wanted to figure out how we as --consumers-- custodians could participate in this circular economy
What it does
Re will give you tips on how to repair, upcycle, and recycle the goods in your custody. This can be anything from your water bottle to your car.
How we built it
We used HTML and JavaScript for the code, and Figma and Adobe XD for the design
Challenges we ran into
We didn't have time to implement as much as we wanted to
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Learning to use JavaScript Creating a beautiful mockup Learning what the circular economy is
What we learned
How to resolve issues as a team How close we are to seriously exceeding the natural boundaries of Earth's cycles
What's next for Re
Keep developing until we have a beta
