Inspiration
In the summer of 2015, I decided to design and build an RC plane completely from scratch. Coming into this weekend, the body was all complete and I needed a means to communicate to the plane from the ground.
What it does
This controller takes the user's commands to fly the plane (banking, elevation, and throttle) and transmits it at 433MHz to the plane, crudely modeled after the B747.
How I built it
Protoboards and lots of solder...and tears.
Challenges I ran into
Connecting all the wires.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I have made great strides to get this to be completely realizable.
What I learned
More about my micro, SPI, and power regulation and distribution.
What's next for RC Plane
3D printing the case and doing some sick barrel rolls in a no-fly zone... jk ;)
