Inspiration
Our inspiration comes from widely used social media platforms. These channels are where people most now access information - making them both powerful tools and potential sources of information.
How we built it
We began by ideating general concepts then conducting both primary research and secondary research. Based on our finding, we define our problem statement then moved to low-fidelity prototyping and ultimately developed a hi-fidelity prototype.
Through our research, we discovered a growing concern about misinformation in Australia and most people frequently consume news and actively seek out different perspectives. However, some expressed a strong desire for a simpler and more efficient way to access reliable information. We spot an opportunity to help people navigate the complex news landscape by offering tools that simplify access to reliable source and promote critical thinking.
Our solution

- Exposure to different perspectives on the same news story
- Misinformation detection features to highlight questionable content
- A forum for discussion where users can engage with others
- Advanced tools to support and enhance user reading experience
- Visual analytics reports for insights into detecting AI generated news and community insights Together, these features aim to reduce misinformation and empower users to make informed decisions.
Challenge we ran into
The biggest challenge we faced was time limitation. With only 48 hours to complete the entire process from ideation and research to design, development, and final presentation. We had to remain extremely focused and efficient at every stage. Due to the tight deadline, we were unable to explore every aspect of the project. This meant making tough decisions about which features to prioritize, which ideas to let go of, and how much time to allocate to user research, prototyping, and testing.
Despite these challenges, our team worked collaboratively and adapted quickly to changing circumstances. We maintained clear communication, assigned tasks based on individual strengths and made decisions with a shared understanding of our core goals. In the end, the time pressure pushed us to be resourceful, think creatively to solve the problem.
