Inspiration
League of Legends has a playerbase of above 115 million people, in which the community does not have a specific spot to gather to vote for champions' current states. We created this in hope to one day push this website to a spot where it can be a reliable source of data.
What it does
Gives people of an idea of how the general League playerbase feels towards certain champions. Although sites like op.gg and u.gg show tier ratings on champions, this community powered statistic can show how players themselves feel about the specifics of the champion.
How we built it
Using firebase as our database to hold the information of user-input ratings per champion, we used react JS to create the website. We also incorporated Riot's API to help with our project.
Challenges we ran into
Our database was not updating new data to the old data; was only rewriting it so we had to find solutions to workaround it. This took majority of the time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of our ability to put together a functioning website in a short amount of time. As we were both occupied with personal situations, we came together to come up and bring the idea to life.
What we learned
We learned how to display an image from a given link without having to download the files ourselves using an API database containing the splasharts of our champions.
What's next for Rating Legends (League of Legends Champion Rating)
What we have planned next for Rating Legends is a better overall UI/UX design which makes it seem more user friendly, have an account based system to not have inflated ratings and hopefully incorporate Riot's API for further details on the champions.
