Inspiration
We were inspired by RateMyProfessor and wanted to create a twist on it.
What it does
Just like in RateMyProfessor, RateMyStudent is a website where professors rate students but it’s done anonymously and privately. Only the student can see their own stats after rating and not anyone else.
How we built it
We used HTML and CSS, and with the use of JavaScript we created seamless transitions between the websites. We also made use of the RepIit AI to help with the code and to fix problems that otherwise would have taken us quite some time to debug.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge we had was deciding what is ethical and what is not in an educational context.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We managed to create a fairly good demo for the amount of time we had and we are really proud of that!
What we learned
We learned that working as a team can be hard, but if we have a clear plan and objective shared between us we can do anything.
What's next for RateMyStudents
We plan to upscale this and creating a working database so that every professor in colleges can be better connected with their students.
