Inspiration

We were inspired how to provide students a real way to gage their fit into a club. We are using real time data for to show how realistic a certain a club.

What it does

We have a built in form where you can submit your forms in the website. It will be in our database and our code will show the different rating and comments of the different clubs. The comments area contains a space for students to place their thoughts regarding a certain club.

How we built it

We used html, css, javascript and R to build this project. We used these languages to build our website and develop the framework.

Challenges we ran into

We had a struggle in creating our pipeline of creating a connection between the domain.com and google cloud platform. We also struggled in adding aesthetics for our website. In addition, we were having trouble with domain.com, because domain.com was not giving access to our name even though we paid for it. We spent a lot of time figuring this out, and it costed valuable time in regards of more website details.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that we completed this hackathon with no prior web development experience and as a group of statistics majors. We made a whole successful pipeline from getting the data to showing it on our website.

What we learned

We learned how to use Google Cloud Platform, Domain website, html, css, R and javascript.

What's next for RateMyClub

The website currently does not have a function that can display the results real time. We would want to establish a database for this website so the user can see the ratings of the website real time.
